Janica Wong
Director - Therapeutic Biology Generate: Biosciences
Dr. Janica Wong leads multiple cancer biotherapeutic programs to IND at Generate:Biosciences, integrating AI/ML with translational oncology. With postdoctoral training at Stanford in stem cell biology and organoid models, she built oncology pipelines at Merck (Keytruda), Alx Oncology (ADCs, T-cell engagers), and now drives late-stage preclinical development combining generative AI-designed proteins with patient-derived tumor models. Her expertise spans immuno-oncology, drug discovery, and regulatory strategy, working closely with cross-functional teams to advance differentiated therapeutics from design to clinic.
Seminars
- Navigating budget limitations and tight timelines while selecting models with strong translational potential to accelerate preclinical development without compromising predictive accuracy
- Prioritizing model complexity versus practical feasibility across organoids, PDX, and in silico platforms to maximize ROI and clinical relevance within resource-constrained environments
- Implementing tiered model selection strategies that balance throughput, cost-effectiveness, and biological fidelity to de-risk candidates faster while maintaining translational confidence
